Why is my address book empty in messemger?

uninstalled my previous version...


upgraded to v7.5xxxxx... had many problems...


never kept my resizing...


never recognized my skins, even after placing them in c:\; as per new instructions...


updater ran on every start up...


etc...





uninstalled and went back to 7.xxxxx


now my messenger address book says "no contacts to display..."


online address book is fine...


cannot import from YAB... "no contacts were found" "messenger couldn't find anyone in your address book who has used the service recently, and none of your contacts have email addresses... "





however, in v7.5... that aspect was fine...





exported to outlook express... as expected it is crap, and does not import well at all...


thunderbird imports everything perfectly... of course, one can't export to messenger from It...





rather tiresome as all my contacts show as their yahoo ID...


all my nicknames, email addies, phone numbers, notes, etc ... all gone...





any ideas on how i can get things back as they were before going to 7.5

Reply:When adding people to your messenger you might want to consider reading the directions for adding people, because it gives simple directions for adding someone and what details you want added IE.. name email real name contact details. you can also find this set up options on your messenger settings, on your chat list preferences.

you're obviously not paying attention...





this has nothing to do with adding contacts...


and by the way... i Know how to do that... who doesn't???





as i said, in my details, all that is left are my contacts, under their IDs... any other information is gone... and won't come back...





(if you think i'm going to refill all that information, for almost 200 people... )
