I need to know what to do?? no doctor!?
I agree with the others on here, your condition is too complicated to figure it out without a doctor's help. Bipolar is a potentially fatal illness-you're messing with dynamite here to not get help right away. I'm thinking the loestrin could have aggravated things, the timing is awfully suspicious, but bipolar can whack out on its own, too. When i have been in your situation, it often escalates to a psychiatric hospitalization, which costs a lot more than going to the doctor (unfortunately, I've never gotten the bipolar under good control). Soooooooo I'm going to repeat what the others have said, this is something you need to go find a doc. In the long run, it is a mistake to have bipolar disorder and not have a psychiatrist. Bipolar is a very serious disorder.

PS when you are feeling better again, make sure you apologize to bf and mom!! I hate when these things happen, but when you are bipolar you have to learn to apologize frequently and sincererly.
Reply:call your pharmacist and tell him whats happeneing with the medication he filled. he will advise you what to do.
Reply:Go to the health food store and purchase some lavendar oil. Pour a couple drops on your hands and rub it in, put a little on your ear lobe, on your forehead and then take your hands, cup them and cover over your mouth and nose and inhale for about one minute. Try this every couple hours and it will help big time. Good luck!!! Also, if someone is available, have someone give you a back rub and rub some of this oil into your back for 20 min.
Reply:For starters you need to go get a doc one you like and will see regularly. like everyone else said it sounds like your overmedicated. Did you tell the gyno that you were on the other meds have you read the side effects of both meds have you read what mixing these meds with other meds may cause there are many reason to this and by the way a gyno will not provide bipolar meds unless they have the proper license and such
Reply:You have absolutely no choice.... find a new Dr. ASAP- preferably one you can see regularly! Don't ask the people here, %26gt;99% are not clinicians/experts and some will give you dangerous or poor advice (see the 2 first responses for details and the one directly below me).

The meds you're on are extremely powerful and bipolar disorder is not something to play with.
Reply:Talk to Ms. Mary Janes or Dr. Hashish
Reply:Loestrin messed with my hormones and made me whacky. People don't give enough credit to how much hormones can change someones personality, especially younger women. I would call your obgyn and tell her what's going on with the loestrin. Also, Effexor and Lamictal are strong drugs. I know you don't want to call a dr but I really think you should try to get into a psychiatrist quickly. If it's the $ you are worried about, I am sure that there is a way for you to pay for the bill. I feel terrible for you and I've been there. Just know that you will feel better once you get the meds sorted out. Please at least call your OBGYN and explain what is happening. All Dr's offices have "on call" doctors. If it is after hours, call the # and have the answering service connect you.
Reply:go 2 peekvid and watch the movie the secret
Reply:IF you have bipolar d/o, and you are also taking Effexor (or any other SSRI antidepressant such as Prozac, etc.), it can cause you to go into an agitated state, especially at your age. You might need an "atypical" antidepressant, such as Wellbutrin, for the depressed phase of your b/p d/o, because they have less of a tendency to cause the agitation than the SSRIs. I am NOT in a position to prescribe meds for you, because I am not treating you, but it does sound as if you need another medication, a "neuroleptic", such as Abilify, Risperdal, etc., to help stabilize you and decrease the agitated, angry mood. You may need another mood stabilizer (which is what the Lamictal is) such as lithium or Depakote, or an increase in your dose of Lamictal to help stabilize you again. A lot depends on what has been tried before, your personal health, before anyone can say for sure, even your psych MD. With b/p disorder, unfortunately, medications that worked well for a while sometimes stop working or need to have the dosage adjusted, for reasons that are not all clear.

The doctor who prescribed your current medications needs to know the effects of the medications on you. What you are describing is NOT what s/he had in mind to do when you were given the meds! As you know, if you have b/p, it is typical for it to "swing", and that's what's happening now. It COULD very well be that the Loestrin is causing the fluctuations--hormones can definitely affect the meds as well as your disorder. Unfortunately, the only person who can tell you for sure, or at least with a higher degree of confidence, is a psych MD to treat you, who prescribes the meds in the first place or a psych MD that you should see regularly for medication monitoring. S/He should be informed of your situation right away. No one here, not even the doctor who gave you the meds, can be precise about what is going on for you without seeing you in person.

I hate to add it to the list of people who have said it, but you do need to see a doctor. If you don't have a regular psych MD that you see for the bipolar d/o, you definitely should try to get one. They can make all the difference between being able to live a relatively stable life and going through the excesses that you are experiencing now. I know this not only as a clinical psychologist but as the mother of a 10-year-old son with bipolar d/o. It can be a very difficult disorder to treat but it IS possible to become stable on medications without a lot of bad side effects too.

I really hope that you can get someone to help you through all of your medication problems. You deserve to live a more stable, happier life and not have all of these problems, which only make you feel worse about yourself.
