Why is my friend always talking about herself?

I've been friends with this girl for about 6 months now and we're really close but recently she's been getting on my nerves! We don't hang out everyday but when we do she can't help but to say things about herself...she also changes the subject sometimes and turns it around into something about her. Her MySpace page is cluttered with pictures of herself and so is her background picture on her cell phone. It's just kind of weird, in my opinion, and really gets under my skin when it happens on more than one occasion. I recently introduced her to a friend of mine and now she's always rubbing in my face, "Oh me and so and so are going out tonight!". I don't know what's up with her...she wasn't like this when I met her. What's going on? How should I deal with this?

Evaluate what she brings to the relationship other than herself. If nothing then get rid of that one. There are so many people in the world you can find a new friend quickly. Why put yourself through her ego.. Blue says end the friendship before it is too late. If you value her friendship just tell her point blank "What is up with you and your ego?" Maybe she can explain her behavior. If the explanation is bad dump her.

Reply:I'm not trying to down talk your friend, but she sounds a little conceited. Whatever you do don't act like her. Just next time y'all are having a converstionand she turns and makes it about her, confront her about it and maybe she will stop.
Reply:well somethign might be going on at home where she used to get a lot of attention at home and then something came up and tat doesn't happen anymore. a lot of different things could be the cause of her "self centeredness" she might just be rubbing her new friend in your face because you guys dont hang out like you used to, and she is trying to get your attention by telling you about her new friend you introduced to her. but her actions don't always shout "SELF CENTERED!!!" just stepp backa nd look at hte whole situation.
