Money management problem?please help?

I have this bad habit that I can not save money or i'd better say manage or handle my money properly. I get ripped off often....when I write down my expenses I lose a lot of money because people easily can charge me for the same service that for example somewhere else charge a lot less. I tell you example....the phone company charged me 180$ just because I cancelled my postpaid mobile bill to prepaid when I realised that is just a way they can take money from your account for no reason. I went to a skin clinic for Laser hair removal and then during consultation they offered me a lightening cream that they just sell as the sole company and said I have to use it because otherwise after laser I will have darkening of my skin so they charged me 200$ just for two creams..a sunscreen crean and a lightening cream ....I bought a book and and dvd for my child for 10$ and when I came home and watched the DVD it was just for 5 minutes and of no use...absolutely waste of money...and so on...

Money management problem?please help?
Well, first and foremost you have to do your research. Don't be afraid to call around, ask friends, or search the 'net for the best services that will a), make sure you're getting exactly what you pay for and b) try not to pressure you into buying crap you don't need. Learn to say "NO"...or even "I'll get back to you" if you come across pushy people like those with whom you've been dealing.

Secondly, you have to ask yourself if you really need the item/service you're handing over your hard-earned money for. Is it essential and will it benefit you for a long time? Is it worth the cash? If you have to stop and think if you really need something or not, chances are that you DON'T. So hold on to your money.

You can also set up a funds transfer with your bank. If you have only one bank account, open another one...but only on the assumption that the money that goes in there is NOT coming out for any reason other than an emergency. Since that's not likely to happen, here's how you set it up: go to your bank (or their website) and create your new account. Then, pick one day a week...say, whatever day you get your pay cheque. If your pay is automatically deposited into your main account, then set up an automatic funds transfer. This means that on one day every week, an amount you specify will be automatically transfered into your new account (remember, that's the account you're not gonna touch). It doesn't even have to be a huge amount. If you receive an actual pay cheque, you'll have to take it to the bank so they can transfer your desired amount into the new account for you.

It adds up, believe me. If you put like $100 into the account every week, in one year you'll have saved $5200! If you put in $200, that's $10,400 in just one year.

The main thing though is to be firm with pushy people, especially the overly-eager ones who try to sell you stuff you don't need. Hope I helped a bit.
Reply:DO you have " SUCKER" tattoed on your forehead?!
Reply:sounds more like bad luck to me
Reply:It's not a 'money management' problem, it's a 'grow up and be an adult' problem.

Saving money takes commitment and separating your 'wants' from your 'needs'. You need food, clothing and shelter that comes with a price tag (as does having children).

You want laser hair removal when a depilatory would have worked just as well and for a heck of a lot less.
