.my dogs health.?

.first of all let me tell you that we have taken her to the vet. yesterday actually. we are in the process of giving her everything the doctor ordered and she is going back to the vet in a couple days.

I have been on the phone with the vet's assistant this morning and I am waiting for the vet to call me back to answer my questions. but in the meanwhile I was wondering of anyone had/has the same problem.

.so.. we moved our dog Nora out to New York about a month ago. We moved here from the west coast.

She is a 10 month old APBT.

.We switched her food to Solid Gold Wulf Cub (we wanted to do that for quiet a while.) She wouldn't stop having loose stool. not diarrhea but her stool wasn't solid, either. So we switched to California Natural, knowing that APBT have sensitive stomach and tend to have skin allergies etc.

The switch went well and her digestive tract seemed to be getting better.

.my dogs health.?
I'm not entirely sure what your question is.

Some superpremium foods, if too high in protein, will cause loose stool. We had this problem with Innova and switched to California Natural, which is also made by Natura. It's a little lower in protein and the problem went away.

Also when you switch foods, you need to transition gradually over about 2 weeks so you don't have the gas/loose stool problem.

Moving stress can also cause this problem.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS:

Ok - well the allergy to lamb caused a reaction (my dog is allergic to lamb too). The vet is recommending a a rest and a bland diet (yogurt and rice) to settle things down - my vet often recommends no food for 24 hours before the bland diet - I prefer that method actually (think about when you are sick to your stomach). That should work. We use California Natural with chicken on our lamb allergic dog - no problems at all. So you can try the prescription food for awhile but if you don't want to stay on that premanently, the California Natural chicken should be fine if you are certain lamb was the problem
Reply:Some dogs have loose stool after eating yogurt.. Maybe you are giving her too much??

Instead of switching and changing her foods all the time.. I would get to the root of the problem.. Has the vet done any testing on the liver?
Reply:I would continue with the vet's advise. Also check and make sure she is not eating anything while she is outside that could up set her stomache. Sounds like you are doing the right thing. The yougart could be giving her the runs (dogs and dairy don't always mix)
